as someone who doesn't like documentaries, this is such a good series, it's informative and just overall good

*SPOILERS* if you like tvd/to, don't watch this. first, this barely relates to tvd and incorporates so many aspects which have nothing to do with tvd, like malivore and all this stuff, + the only villain for like 3 seasons was malivore/random monsters. unlike tvd, there are not any human villains( and by this I mean look human, like wolves, witches etc.) they just look terrible like that ugly rat hedgehog thing. the only good villains were probably Sebastian and kai who is also a villain on tvd so it doesn't count. it's cringy too, I love the cast, especially Danielle and Kaylee (sorry matt). Even if you don't watch/like tvd, the show isn't good in general, the storylines aren't good, even in s4 (which people say is better than the others) it is still cringy, and now with GODS??? literal gods????????????? you can't just randomly add gods to tvdu???????????? Honesty, I haven't watched recently since is stopped watching, I got to when hope is with all the keys and realised "why tf am I still watching this?". Rewatching TVD (Which I do a lot) is more interesting than this, even if I already know what happened. Not to mention how Kaylee left, which made the show substantially worse. Legacies is such wasted potential, following on from Klaus's death and Hope's school life could have been good if it was done right. But it wasn't. A show about Katherine's life or the Gemini Coven would have been 10x more interesting than this though. Don't watch this, and if you do you'll probably find yourself miserable by the end of season 2, especially when Kai dies, that was very much unnecessary.

So good. Better than the last few seasons of TVD but not as good as the early ones

Season 1-6 were really good but 7 and 8 were TERRIBLE. the start of season 7 was good as it involved the heratics but a soon as the rayna cruz stuff started it was not good. Season 8 wasn't that bad but still worse than the rest. The only good episode was when Kai came back and everybody remembered what Stefan had done.
