This is one of the best and most sensitive films that deals with problems that are even more relevant today than they were 15 years ago when the film was released. A story about refugees, immigration, adjustment to a new world, questions of identity and, of course, about love. The filming is exemplary and the acting is too -- especially the three people who play the boy as a child, as an adolescent and then as a grown up. The casting is impeccable in all the roles, but especially in the way the age transitions work for this character. It is a film you will want to watch over and over; and you will be moved enormously ever single time.
