A movie not worth watching...
The movie starts off with a clips ripped right out of Judgement Day, with Sarah explaining the end of the world before it transitions to a controversial scene many Terminator fans will not be happy with.
It soon jumps to the present introducing us to Grace before jumping to another scene introducing us to Daniela (Dani) and Carlos, and immediately the antagonist of the movie. The characters come off as lifeless in every action and dramatic scene and the antagonist as generic in appearance as in personality.
We are soon introduced to Sarah who comes off as an over the top version of T2 Sarah, who rescues the group from the antagonist and leads the group to Texas where we meet Arnold's character Carl. Arnold gives a lackluster performance in his scenes up to the climax/conclusion of the movie.
Overall, this movie is a Mashup of the last five Terminator movies rolled into one. Lacking in any originality, characters feeling lifeless in every dramatic scene, and a troubled plot filled with questionable moments littered throughout.
I give this movie a 3/10. Not worth spending money on a cash grab of a sequel.
SPOLER REVIEW (I'll try to be quick and simple)
The same as the top, but with additional information on the quality of the movie.
The movie is littered with plot holes throughout, the introduction to John's death was questionable. Since it's a sequel to T2, we are shown a T800 (who would soon be called Carl) killing John in the introduction. How is there a T800?
Shouldn't it not exist, since T2 T800 sacrificed itself? It should have prevented John's death and Sarah's hate fueled revenge.
After being introduced to our protagonists, we learn that Carl, was sending coordinates of future Terminator locations including Rev-9 to Sarah, so she can terminate them. This is where Sarah meets the Dani and Grace. The trio go to Texas and learn that the informant Carl, is John's killer who has become self aware of its actions and wanted to help Sarah due to learning parenthood.
More questions, how does Carl exist?
How does he know the locations of future Terminator locations since Skynet or the Terminators don't exist?
How does he know Rev-9s existance or its whereabouts?
How did Carl became self aware? (If we go by T2s learning computer switch deleted scene)
Why are Legion's Rev-9s have an uncanny resemblance to Skynet's Terminators if the evidence is destroyed in T2?
The ending felt lackluster and predictable, cut and paste right out of the first Terminator movie, many of the scenes borrow heavily from the last five movies. Overall it's a heavily recycled Terminator film that fails to be a true sequel to Judgement Day.
