When Spotify decides everyone shall listen to a certain artist, everyone shall. But then again, is that a bad thing? Souvenir D'Italie being in everyone's "Discover Weekly" was perhaps the greatest put-on of the century. I have never heard such a smooth virtuoso piano playing in my life. From start to finish. It all flows from one song to the next. It has everything, from bebop, to cool jazz, to covers of Broadway compositions, and it's all done masterfully, with arpeggiated chords that tickle all the right parts of the jazz-enjoying brain. Whenever anyone disses this album based on the context of it being pushed by Spotify, dismiss them at ones. For this might be a rare occasion where fate itself drives traffic to an obscure artist from sheer consciousness and guilt, a-la Van Gogh.

Peak literary achievement. A must read.
