This series, as an adaptation and expansion of the books, even for initial viewing, is an experience. The crazy set-pieces, the great music, the beautifully written monologue scenes with metaphors that work every time, heck, even the actors deadpan delivery of lines is just amazing. It reminds me of a Wes Anderson movie: dry humour, quick line delivery and as said before crazy set-pieces. A thing I haven't heard much about this series is the amazing costume design. Especially the ones Count Olaf's fiancee wears. Neil Patrick Harris' performance is i believe one of his best ever. Te two actors playing the children fit in seamlessly with the more experienced among them.
