No idea why people are raving about this. I didn't even make it through the first episode before removing it from my 'continue watching' row on Netflix.

This reminded me of a Ken Loach type film. The characters are well developed, and it is very well acted. If you're looking for something action packed, then this isn't the one for you. But if you're looking for something real and raw, then it is well worth a watch.

The storyline of this film had a lot of potential, especially with such a brilliant cast. Sadly it didn't live up to expectations. The characters and their relationships were incredibly underdeveloped - I never felt I could connect with any of them at all. The music also wasn't particularly fitting unfortunately, and I felt much of it would have been more suited to a short film (with an entirely different plot).

Although I'll admit I binged this over 2 days, I found all the subplots ridiculous. There are too many underdeveloped characters and the plot is very thready. Lots of loose ends are left and at the end of the final episode you're still left trying to work out how certain characters fit into the jigsaw. Wouldn't recommend.

A very kid friendly look at apartheid and racism. I've just discovered this film as an adult in my late 20s and loved it. I didn't actually know much about apartheid, so it's intrigued me to do a bit more research. Educational films like this should definitely be more mainstream!
