I actually think it is getting worse After 34 years watching , it is now on life support and I reckon we should pull the plug. ********************************************************************************************** I have been an avid viewer of Coronation Street since the mid 1980's. Sadly the show has become a very pale imitation of itself. As a male viewer constant misandry at the drop of a hat has become beyond wearing. Every bloke is either an idiot or scolded in almost every single episode. It doesn't help that there is now a total lack of any alpha males prepared to bite back. Surely all the men can't be beta's ?? I haven't seen a proper alpha male character since Pat Phelan met his end. Where is Jack Duckworth & Vera when you need them ? Steve and Tracey give it a go but then the misandry kicks in again. Has Steve ever managed to get one up on Tracy ?? At this rate it is very likely I will cease viewing very soon. Soaps used to be varied .. dramatic and often great fun . I used to be an avid fan of the others too. But alas it was farewell to Brookside, ditched Eastenders for being far too grim and then Emmerdale as it went down the same road Coronation St is currently wandering down. Stupid story lines , developed often within a single episode ? In the glorious past story lines used to be developed at a perfect pace. Here is some advice. Improve the quality. Reduce the quantity. Less is more.
