Concealed, by Esther Amini is an engaging memoir. Easy and enjoyable reading from a courageous primary source. The author reveals her family history both in Iran and Queens and their absorption into American culture.
I enjoyed Esther's artful descriptions of her family dynamics and her parents complicated relationship. Her family experiences are revealed through the recollection of numerous and sometimes humorist stories. One of my favorites was the description of the day Esther's family helped her move into the dorm at Barnard.
Esther's life experiences integrating two cultures will resonate with many families. I recommend it.
