Stunning visuals. Pity about the plot. It puts a bandaid of cinematic brooding over it's philosophical vacuum. The luvvies: "Wow this is really deep". Me: "I must have forgotten my opioids".

I'm not a fan of it. Formulaic drama that wastes Science Fiction's innate potential to explore philosophy. But quite watchable.

It's a fantastic plot, but as a newbie watcher (years ago now), it pi**ed me off that I had to google to find out what the huck was going on. Pretentious, "oh aren't you in the know?" twaddle reminiscent of 60's smoke and mirrors finales that just left frustration. Like you have to be one of the cool ones, or know one, or make watching the film a forensic study to actually understand what happens. And the producers want you to feel inferior and thius somehow in awe. To be fair, once I did know, I was blown away, but..no, just entertain me, leave the pretence out please. Seriously pleased hollywood has moved on from that arrogant approach to story telling.

As time goes by, this matures like a fine cheese, or even a not so fine cheese... into a classic. Another classic. The BBC must be furious with their LGBT infused management.

We saw it yesterday. Pretty decent! It had the big hollywood makeover and was better than the critics say, but don't see it if you don't like musicals. If I were to critique, the sound was a bit off. Fantastic music backing with some pretty sloppy vocals (except Swift, Hudson, Dench, who were obviously put there to show how it's done). The vocals were recorded live on set, and sound a bit "mono". I guess they were trying to keep the live musical feel and happy to sacrifice some quality for it. Hudson's song Memories brings it all to a dizzy climax. Dench's lip perfect timing and punchy pronunciation is genius. But, with Corden and Wilson adding humour, the vivid colours, the set pieces, the beautiful allure of the ballerina lead, the ethereal plot (daft but literally magical nonetheless)... Defo worth it.

Frantic, consistent, good movie if you are into the franchise.

Philosophical premise, GREAT. Everything else, CARP! Slow melodramatic sludge, developing at a snails pace - you will finally get it, but be prepared for loose ends, unfulfilled philosophical potential.... and take your oxygen bottle to help you get there.

Car crash. Daniel Day-Lewis, feted by the money boys as something he wasn't, went out like a freshman -- hearing Lincoln was verbally high pitched, he tried to mimic it... honestly THE WORST ACTING I have ever seen. You want to see actors with high pitched voices who can be commanding? Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis... Dan's performance was embarrassing.

Patchy paralytic plot, OTT CGI but still, fantastic graphics, good concept. 3 out of 5.

Pretentious. Vacuous. Disappointing. An LGBT lecture.
