To me this is Kim Namgil's best performance up until now! How he portraits Song Hayoung left me utterly speechless. From the tiniest movements of his hands to the soul-piercing looks in his eyes during confrontations with different types of criminals. Everything was done so excellently to the point where I seriously feel like from now on, I wouldn't be able to love any other character as much as I've loved Hayoung! The chemistry between him and Jin Seonkyu's Kook Youngsoo is yet another beautiful wonder that can't be missed. These two are just the perfect casting! I adore them so much that I had to buy the blu-ray. If only my Korean was good enough, I would definitely buy the script books too~
I'm also in love with the OST. I'm impressed by all of them and how they are used for various scenes, but my favorites are Hayoung's Theme (no.10 on my 2022 Spotify Wrap), Can't Run Away (no.7) and Lullaby.
Moreover, just as Jin Seonkyu said in his and Kim Namgil's keyword interview, the fact that there's no romance between the main male character and the main female one makes it even better! If there is a Season 2, I hope it remains this way.
I can write a whole essay listing all the reasons why I love this thriller drama with its two main leads that are Song Hayoung & Kook Youngsoo. But it's already 3am, I'd better stop here~
