I've read and reread this book series over and over for 20 years plus. Let's begin with the actual production values. They are poor, post production is unimpressive. Writing is uninspired with poor creativity. Adaptation is senseless ,fundamentally changing core characters, diminishing them for no apparent reason that has to do with serving the story. If you are going to drastically change anything from the source material there has to be a logic behind it that serves the story. This does not. They essentially bought the rights to Mr. Rigbys life's work so they could formulate a lesser piece of work that pales in comparison. Either his widow Harriet was lied to or was complicit in this complete butchery of what was a layered ,deeply built world and lore. I wouldn't employ any of the staff involved with this, especially Rafe Judkins,to wash my car let alone tamper with a tremendous piece of fictionary literature. If I could rate this negative stars I would. It has actually left such a bad taste,I will have to reread the whole series yet again for the 22nd time just to cleanse my pallet
