It’s a good game in its own right. I wish all the Dark Souls snobs would quit comparing it though. Mortal Shell does Mortal Shell better than anyone. Dark Souls does Dark souls better than anyone. Quit comparing and just enjoy the game. We know all the Dark Souls fans feel threatened by any game that challenges FromSoftware’s original creation… but damn, allow yourselves to enjoy something fresh.

Final Fantasy 16 delivers. I’ve played all the big titles this year. Zelda, Jedi Survivor, Diablo 4, etc. Dare I say, this is the most fun I’ve had with combat in any game this year. Action-packed, along with a clear, sometimes emotional narrative that’s easy to hop in and stay on track with. The production and development teams for this title nailed it. For those looking for a genre defining title, this may not be the one for you. The mechanics of this game are nothing new, and if that’s what you’re looking for this may not be the game for you. However, those of us looking for a game with fantastic storytelling and exciting combat gameplay, FF16 again delivers. If your expectations are anchored in reality, this title is clearly a 9/10 with flashes of a 10/10 in my humble opinion. I highly recommend.

I don’t care about your RTX yada yada card. Or if you have a $3000 PC. Console gamers have spent years watching PC gamers get to play all sorts of games that we can’t play on console. As for Jedi Survivor, play this game on a console like a normal video game lover and you’re in for a treat!
