I thought this was one of my favorites. I watched it last year because I had fond memories of it. Then, when I watched it again, I was struck by how bad it was. It's pretty dark, too. The husband is murdered, and the kids drown in a car. It steals from It's a Wonderful Life but with a darker premise. Weird movie. Acting is pretty bad too... 47% on Rotten Tomatoes... for a good reason. lol. You want to love your classics from the 80's... don't watch them again, it will ruin them. lol.

A fresh, creative, in-depth look at the lives of those who came in contact with Jesus. It tries hard to feel authentic on a limited budget... but where it lacks in sets and costumes it gains in amazing writing, pacing, and boldness to give meat to those whose lives change the world because of their relationship with Jesus of Nazareth. It's not just "Christian TV"... but wonderful storytelling that many can appreciate.

The first episode was gripping and well done. Then it lost me at end of Episode 2 when it went dark and gruesome. Was hoping for a show my wife and I could watch and she doesn't do murder and scary.
