SPOILERS Man I have been looking forward to this game since it was announced, considering the original is my favorite game of all time. I just finished it and am kinda disappointed. Naughty Dog took a couple risks with the game and I don't think the payed off. First of Joel dying, it was heart wrenching and shocking(I avoided leaks) and kinda rubbed me the wrong way from the begining of the game. I was looking forward to getting my revenge on The WLF and Abby, and unfortunately the ending just doesn't feel satisfying after building it up for the whole 25 hour story. The second twist (playing as Abby) I did not hate. I enjoyed the difference in combat between Ellie and Abby a lot actually. I also thought it was a unique and creative Idea by naughty dog showing how there are two sides to every story. Surprisingly unlike most people I did not hate abby as character by the end of the story. As Ellie I still wanted to take my revenge on her for Joel and Jesse but I enjoyed seeing abby's growth. Now for the negatives for playing as abby, IT DRAGGED. Considering Ellie is one of my favorite characters of all time I was expecting an adventure full as her. I was intrigued by abby being playable but playing half the game as Abby was so disappointing. We all signed up to play as Ellie not some character we met an hour into part II. The ending of the game also just feels purposeless. It its 100% a set up for a part 3 which we have to wait probably 5+ years to play. Overall I did not hate the game as much as most. The game play, graphics and locations are great. The faction war of Seattle was interesting and I would have liked to learn more about it. Playing half the game as Abby was disappointing to say the least. Part II isnt as bad as people say but is not up to standards of other naughty dog titles
