You guys want to know what the best star wars movie out of the sequel series is? Its rogue one. Why? Because in that one movie it build up that feeling, in one movie, that it's leading to something big. Which is the whole lore of star wars, that it is leading up to a huge climax that has been hinted at in the previous movies of the series. The sequel series does none of that.
The force awakens set up the series well for TLJ, but TLJ destroyed that lore leading up to the big climax in the rise of skywalker. JJ Abrams was given a jumbled script and didn't have much to work on.
In Rogue One, the one movie, there was more character development then all three of the sequels combined. When you watch Rogue One you feel this sense of friendship and bonding between the characters, while in the sequels the characters are always mindlessly bickering and fighting, (they could have developed Poe's character so much better, him being a past stormtrooper). A past stormtrooper turned good is such a great idea, why does Disney not develop those ideas more?
If you search up every movie of the sequels and Rogue One, you will find that Rogue One has the highest percentage(89%) of people who liked this movie. While TFA has 80% and TLJ has 69% and so far TROS has 73% on google for people who liked this movie.
Everyone has their own opinions but if you look at what the people say and in terms of good directing you will find that Rogue One is the best star wars movie out of the new ones, or the Force Awakens depending on your opinion. Props to the director Gareth Edwards who doesn't get enough credit. Thanks for reading.
