this series is awesome, the plot, the set, pacing, everything is awesome.
BUT,
this series give a very wrong message,
it's all about SJW bs boo hoos,
claire, a stereotype pretty white blonde woman, always looked down upon by her parents, ironically the very owner of the studio, when she has a real chance on proving them wrong, she just let other girl have it because she is colored when they are both talented.
if this stereotype white blonde girl really exist she would jump off the rail from Titanic or doing anna karenina stunt because of her circumstances and she has all the rights to win/compete with the black girl.
it's about the black girl's dream, dude what about the blonde girl's dream? she doesn't deserve it? she doesn't have a right to fight for it? the writer just write her that she give it up.
it looks like the minorities here are just cry-babies shouting the rule isn't fair.
the rule isn't fair? welcome to real life.
wanna make a series about rewriting history?
why not start by some black slaves running away and assemble/take over a land somewhere in USA a la wild wild west and create their own safe haven independent state and they fight for it teeth and nails to defend what they call homeland.
that gives a right message, instead of cying over the rule isn't fair trope.
and you can make the sequel in modern days IF said safe haven state survive and thrive.
but one message i like from this series, "be honest, speak what's your heart content."
there you have it, i speak what my heart content.
