there are lots of non-racist white characters in the show, so why is it that you felt the one racist white guy is representative of all white people? I get it, you feel like the victim of prejudice (and maybe you have experienced discrimination in your life, I can't speak to your life story), but your anxiety is leading you to make illogical presumptions, and extrapolate from inferences. Racist people do exist, and they do prejudge people - you yourself say you have experienced it, so it shouldn't shock you that a school administrator could be racist. It was one event designed to showcase prejudice, and for some weird reason you chose to associate with the perpetrator instead of the victim despite your own personal experience with injustice. Maybe you should examine why you are so triggered by the representation of a single racist person on a television show, as though it is an attack on you. The show didn't call you racist.
The show itself was very enjoyable. I thought they did a great job of balancing science fiction with real life drama, and the twist was excellent. The kid actors did a great job, perfectly awkward just like normal kids. I had a bit of a hard time relating to Nicole; she made what I would argue are a lot of poor and reckless decisions, but to be fair she was played and written very well... I just can't imagine caring about dance class when my kid has telekinesis. :)
