THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!! Honestly this game is pretty good so far. The graphics are so good I had to download a new graphics driver before I could play it. The mission ideas are also extremely creative. I mean, throwing an entire star destroyer into a nebula? Genius. The controls are the same as Starfighter Assault in Battlefront 2, only it’s much easier to fly in this game than it is in BF2. One plus as well is that when you run into something while flying, it’s not an insta-kill. Considering how sometimes I get a little disoriented with the flying it’s a good feature. I also love the diversity in the characters! One of the characters is non-binary and another is a gay man. The humans are also multiple different races.
However, I do have my critiques. The story in the campaign is a bit boring. It seems like there’s a lot of talking and not too much action. I also know that this was meant to be a VR-compatible game, but as a PC player, that feature kind of ruins the immersion for me. I was hoping to be able to walk around when I wasn’t in the cockpit. The customization was not very custom if you know what I mean. I want to be able to customize my hair, eye color, etc. as well so that maybe my pilot could look a little more like me.
I’m hoping that this review could change into a five-star with some more updates in the future. But for now, it’s a three-star.
Updates:
- I am on mission 11 of the story and it is getting really good now!
