If this were a movie, it would be universal panned for its story/plot. For a game heavily dependent on its writing, it just falls absolutely flat on its face with its contrived telling of a "revenge plot". You are forced to play a character that the game makes you hate for 1/3 of the game which makes it a slog as you have zero connection which the character.
The ending leaves you wholly unsatisfied as it deadpan hits you over the head with the "revenge is not worth it" trope. Graphics were good and gameplay was passable but the story direction they took with this just leaves fans with a bad aftertaste after waiting 7 long years.
I'm sure the "woke" will attempt to defend this by saying that "gamers" are all alt-right nazis but the forced character diversity is the least of its problems. "Subverted expectations" is not a valid defense for this one Druckmann.
