I found this film by chance on TCM. The title was familiar to me, but I had no idea of the content of the film. What a superb film with an extraordinary cast of performers. It was a joy to see a film of this character and quality, about a very serious subject. HIGHLY recommended.

Loved it, despite the stereotypical characterizations...they weren't totally off target. Funny, sad, poignant in many ways. Directed with great sensitivity, a Coming of Age story despite much cultural interference in this Orthodox Jewish setting.
