This movie was incredible. One of the best I've ever seen. Cooper outdid himself as a director, and for someone who's been sober since his 20s, he's still very much in touch with that part of himself, and presents a very honest, unflinching portrait of the alcoholic and the people who love them.
The fact that he learned to sing, and does it well, as well as directing this movie with such insight and sensitivity - Cooper is clearly a contender in the acting world. I expect more great things from him.
Lady Gaga turns in an incredible performance as well. She seems surprisingly down to earth given how she initially came on the entertainment scene. Phenomenal singing talent, with genuine acting ability.
The music - fantastic, original, and can't be pigeonholed as just country (much more diverse), though the main character is a "country" star. Soundtrack is great as well.
This movie is one of a kind, the kind that never leaves you...
