Arguably the best film of all 11 Wizarding World movies. Cuaron's camera work is unrivalled in the franchise and tonally the light-heartedness seamlessly blends with the darker tones, creating a perfect balance which none of the subsequent movies either can't manage to achieve or simply move away from as the Hogwarts students venture into young adulthood and the perils of dark witches and wizards become more unyielding. Musically it's best and if course it us as it's composed by the legendary John Williams. This is his third and final contribution to the Potter movies and he doesn't disappoint. Williams infuses the magical sounds if wonderment from the previous two installments with new themes that explore a more whimsical component as well as themes of luscious escapism, sweeping audiences across horizons of bliss as realised during the scene where Harry rides on Buckbeak high above the school grounds of Hogwarts and over the Black Lake and then there are themes of profound introspection like "Windows to the past" where Willians masterfully keeps the tune brilliantly simple yet enormously significant.
Prisoner of Azkaban is easily my most watched Potter movie and strikes the perfect balance for viewers who may be too impatient with the more child-centric delivery of the first 2 films and who don't want to get lost in the established character arcs, narrative and darker themes of the latter movies.
