Overall a good movie, acting was not great to start with, mainly the girls but the did grow on me as the film went on. Nice mystery throughout but a little lacking in explanation, wasn't hard to understand what was going on but lacked depth. I think this would have worked well as a series as could have filled out with professor family, then kids searching and so on. The last 20 mins you get another aspect which again could have been developed so much more, I kinda wanted the film to go on another hour to extend the end but could be another film altogether. Would have given 4 stars if the acting was better in the first 30mins.

Personally, this is one of the best things to watch this year being a sci-fi fan. The effects and actors are great, can't go wrong including vikings main man. I think ridley is back to best with this, only directs the first couple but has put his mark on it. I'm only 3 episodes in but story is progressing perfectly and a good mix of action/story. Just watch it!

So when i finished watching i thought wow, not because it was the best film I've ever seen but gave me a better appreciation for the character, primarily due to the underlying life and people issues which ultimately led to his darker side. It has some glorious one liners which give you food for thought. It was filmed beautifully, soundtrack was perfect and the acting was superb. Quite a bit of harsh violence but I felt it was in relation to his madness and necessary. Not the fastest movie and not your typical antihero but a brilliant watch none the less. Watch for yourself and forget the hype.
