The Matrix is conceptually the first truly modern movie in that it takes place in a synthetic reality and asks the question of whether you want to see or go back to sleep. Morpheus says I can't tell you, you have to see for yourself...pretty profound and beyond that just a great sci-fi movie! Absolute must-see.
