I really enjoyed ROTTR, sadly none of the quality of that game carried over here, aside from obviously the graphics.
Puzzles are unnecessarily long with lots of backtracks, confusing objectives, horde mode shooter Gears of War style (like wth right), with mostly melee enemies while the game makes you struggle with close quarter combat.
I think there's even less weapon modification here, and by that I mean most of the guns don't even have any upgrades, though I suspect it's a trade for individual armor crafting.
The biggest compromise they've made is with the level design. I may have done 80% stealth in ROTTR, while I don't think I've done a single successful stealth in any section in this game. The areas are so tight and enemies are packed together, it's almost a miracle to do anything without alerting at least a single person.
All in all, it's no big deal to avoid this game and be content with ending it at the second game.
