Today I was disgusted with Savannah as she interviewed Steve Adler, the mayor of Austin TX. As the Mayor attempted to address the winter storm issues Texas was facing. He was very factual in the listing the problems and concerned with correcting their power and water problems. Savannah however attempted not once but twice to goad him into shaming and blaming Ted Cruz for being gone over night with family. When the Mayor avoided taking the bait and restated his goals and even said he wanted to “pull the people together to get food and water to the people of his city”, Savannah for a second time tried time to get him to engaged in a public shaming of Cruz! She acted like the school bullies who chants, “fight, fight, fight” until they can push someone over the edge and fight so all the kids can watch! Thankfully the mayor again deflected her attempt to turn the interview away from the winter weather crisis in Texas, to her agenda of pitting political figures against each other! Today I realized Savannah is just another “ talking head”, controlled by her owner! Before today, I felt like NBC was less caustic than the other networks when it came to political bullying. Sadly, I was wrong. There is little “factual news” being reported. Savannah was no more than a gossip columnist working for one of the tabloids. She was just “following the money”, her owners’ bribe. Sad sad sad.
