Great movie, saw this when it came out with my father. To this day this is one of my top three all time greatest movies (Rocky & Top Gun are the other two, in no particular order). This film is scary and good. I never when back into the ocean after seeing this movie, really...until 1986 when I was serving in the Air Force in the Philippines, on a three day pass went to a remote Island near Subic Bay, bought some snorkeling gear and went back in the ocean, facing my fear and overcoming it. That is how much this film effected me, a great movie that scared my out of the ocean. I am a movie buff and in my teens through my early adulthood I was in theaters so much, it felt like a second home to me. To this day, I never had the experience at any movie theater, like I had after seeing this movie and the credits started to roll. Never before or after. And I have seen alot of blockbusters at movie theaters. This is what happened, really...when the credits started to roll, very few people started for the exits, this was sold out and every seat was filled...All the people that stood up as the credits rolled, applauded and cheered for like the entire time the credits rolled. I never had experienced that before or after. Steven Spielberg mentioned this on one the Jaws DVD release special features at a screening he did...and that reminded me of when I was just 11 years old with my Dad, thinking at the time, is this what happens at all movies. No, only the greatest ones.
