As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, this show really shows a true glimpse in the life of people in this community. It doesn’t fetishize gay people and shows the hardships we go through simply for being lgbtqia+. The show keeps things realistic with the little things like Wilhem’s acne and acne scars, and the teenagers being sort of awkward over all. It makes the show more enjoyable because it’s more relatable. I like how there is also representation of different people from different cultures and ethnicities. Simon and his sister, for example, are latinx. I, too am Latina, making the show all the more relatable and enjoyable for me personally. I’m sure there are other details and parts that the rest of the people who watched it found relatable as well. Netflix really made a masterpiece with this one, and there will definitely be a fandom waiting eagerly for the next season.
