The inside joke was Ms. Trunchbull wearing that athletic sweater saying "1972 Olympics." Probably few today will remember that the 1972 Olympics was the scene of the Munich massacre when nine members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage, after killing two of them. The implication being that she's likely a Nazi, and the spitting image of a female Gestapo police matron.
