One of the few modern horror movies that served the two utmost important functions a horror movie is CREATED to serve, which are, to relapse into your memory once night falls for the next month or two....and to generally disturb something in your spirit. If you're looking for that quality where something you just cant put your finger on, makes you feel dirty in your soul simply for having witnessed it, is in your subconscious searchbar...then this is DEFINITELY your guaranteed grand slam. At least half a dozen scenes were polarizing, another dozen that stick with you for good and Toni Collette's performance and portrayal of emotional turmoil only leaves a viewer guessing what TRUE turmoil she mustve mentally referenced in order to apply it to a "performance". Her effort is so far beyond A+ in this beautifully creepy film, I forget she is a paid actress at all which of course. . on the best, Daniel day Lewis caliber typed have ever had me convinced inasmuch. Not to mention ...a wonderful scream to boot :-). All around just...aces from head to toe on this one.
