Other than the title and characters' names, it has no similarity to the novel, the first of 14 in Jan Karon's wonderful series. The main character was Father Tim, a 60+ bachelor priest, not the female writer ... bad casting g and script ...what was Hallmark thinking???

It began as a mix of Hitchcock and Twilight Zone, intetesting camera angles, draws you in with the intensity, suspense, enhanced by the music. However, by the 5th episode, it began dragging, and for the next 5, was painfully slow. It could have been done in half the time. Hard to watch Roberts' character looking exhausted, depressed, on verge of tears in almost every scene. There was some closure, but I did not understand the last scene. I must have missed a clue earlier. Next time, make it a 2 + hour movie.
