My friend gave me a book called “Talking to the Sky”by Aimee Mayo, a ticket to the show, at the City Winery in Chicago,was included for my birthday. Aimee Mayo and her husband Chris Lindsey opened for actor/ singer Dennis Quaid. Aimee is a Grammy nominated songwriter and author out of Nashville.We so enjoyed Aimee’s stories and the background for each song. Aimee has such a great sense of humor! Aimee told the crowd that she had copies of her latest book for sale and that we can meet with her after the show. What a night! I couldn’t wait to start reading her book. We were treated to the couple’s great music and her biography, which spurred my interest. After I finished her book, which was hard to put down, I sat there and replayed Aimee’s story in my head. My conclusion was Aimee never lost site of her dream. That’s the reason Aimee survived through all the craziness she was dealt. Her account of that madness and how she made it through is inspiring. You will laugh and cry! Aimee’s book takes us on her journey of highs and lows more devastating than the one before. So if you’re looking for a great read, grab your favorite drink and munchies. Get comfortable and enjoy “Talking to the Sky!”
