Underrated film. Brilliant styling, beautiful visually, intriguing story, cleverly matter-of-fact. Not a Tom Cruise fan but liked him in this! One to watch at least twice to pick up on the subtle visual clues in the backdrops. The audience experience events through the main character of Jack, played by Cruise. Some parts Kubrik-esque, the story zips along immersively, slowly unravelling the puzzle and introducing the plot twist. On first viewing, a true science fiction tale, simply told against a broad backdrop, reminiscent of the original ‘Planet of the Apes’ in the way it develops. One to collect in your SF library.
