If only we could give a 0 star rating, that would be more fitting.
It’s of course not expected that you are friends with every guest that comes on your show, but you should at least be respectful. At a time when BTS were really breaking through in the Western World, Corden capitalised on the inevitable views he’d get in inviting BTS on the show and awkwardly joking about how he wants to become a member of the band. His lack of research into the group is prevalent given the fact Dynamite is his ‘favourite’ song from Be (we get it, you turned on the radio in your car). However, it became strikingly obvious when calling BTS ‘unexpected guests’ at the UNGA, despite the fact they have been guest speakers several times and are now nominated political envoys for South Korea (a simple google review would teach him and his research team that, but ignorance is bliss).
BTS have made an incredible effort in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, campaigning against Asian hate and also supporting BLM; the same cannot be said for Corden.
Furthermore, generalising a fanbase as 15 year old girls does nothing but show Corden’s prejudicial stereotypes ingrained in his beliefs. BTS’ demographic includes a wide age range, but with the largest percentage falling in 20-30 year olds.
Your career since you moved to America has solely relied on being a successful presenter, however you’re basically just an ignorant comedian who wishes to make jokes at the expense of your relationship with guests that you lack respect for.
