McCarthy writes like poetry. Lots and lots of description. Casts a spell. After awhile it was too much of a chore to read. No character development so I didn’t care about the main character at all. McCarthy is truly talented though. One of a kind writer.

I love books with kids a main characters. But this book had too much description. Kinda bogged down.

Way too many characters. I counted over 70

I’d give this book two stars. Half the way through the book there are more characters being added!! The author ends a chapter in a cliff hanger and switches to a new character in a different time etc. Frustrating! Lost interest and never finished the book. There were way too many characters and time periods. Maybe could have written 3 books from the one! Not impressed and this is my first experience with this author.
