If there is any weakness, it's the writing. The story, and cast are fantastic. The set work is amazingly well done. And the way that language is used in this is superb- revolutionary.
But the devil's in the details, my dear.
Suspending reality is a heavy, heavy lift. It takes a great deal of strength to do it, and a great deal of finesse and work to pull it off. At the end, when the audience member is looking back at all of the various events and actions-especially in a story dealing with so many cerebral intangibles- they had better be able to understand why they went down the various paths. Every. Detail. I realize that they're wanting to save some answers for following seasons and that's fine. But there are a few little details here and there that have no explanation for why they were included. Almost like the writer started down a path, then decided they didn't want to go there, and abandoned that little plot line. These things happen, it's just part of the writing process. A couple of these don't hurt anything if they are small and it can actually add to the mysterious nature of a story like this. But if there are too many abandoned ideas or plot directions, it just becomes convoluted and confusing. Tighten up the pacing a bit, tighten up the writing, and this is one hell of a series!
