Iโve been rocking dual eSIMs on my phone lately because having satellite connectivity everywhere I go has become non-negotiable for me.
Yes, modern phones like the iPhone and Pixel already have built-in satellite emergency messaging. And with Samsung, you can get satellite connectivity too if your carrier supports it. It works, but in my experience it can take a while to lock onto a satellite, and itโs mostly limited to emergency texting. On iPhone, you can also send texts and update your location through Find My.
T-Mobileโs T-Satellite with Starlink is different. Your phone can stay in your pocket and still connect in places with zero cell coverage, as long as youโve got a view of the sky. It also supports data for a growing number of apps, and the list is getting surprisingly long.
If you just want backup emergency communication, the built-in satellite features on todayโs smartphones are probably enough.
But if you hike, road trip, camp, travel through remote areas, or just want
