The most interesting part of this release isn’t the model name. It’s what becomes practical to build. OpenAI just released GPT-6 Sol and Luna for ChatGPT Work, Codex, and the API. They’re reporting stronger coding, better factual reliability, and clearer communication, while cutting API pricing by 50% compared with the previous Sol and Luna promotional rates. That combination gets my attention. I’m looking at this as someone using AI to build software and improve real operating businesses. An impressive answer is useful. A system that helps us get work done consistently, at a cost that makes sense, is considerably more useful. When I evaluate these tools, I’m asking practical questions. Can we reduce the time between a customer inquiry and a useful response? Can we connect the information scattered across different systems? Flashback to ALL IN 2023 in DFW. What a phenomenal experience. Hosted by my good friends Carlos E. Reyes and Sal Shakir, with my good friend and mentor Doc Farris speaking, and my brother Pat Hilton holding it down as emcee. Great friends. Great speakers. Great conversations.
