This is the question I get the most so I thought I’d give ya a rundown! Apparently, something they do have in common is how quickly people are freaking reading them, sometimes finishing in a day! That’s such a cool compliment to me as I regularly struggle to finish books.

These books are good for people who enjoy reading memoirs that read like fiction.

I hope that by putting out the darkest parts of my life, it creates a light for those of you in search of a path.

70 days ago I made the decision to fight my agoraphobia head on. With the help of my therapists and incredibly supportive partner, I attempted to leave the house at least once a day for as many days as I could. A feat that seemed impossible at the time.

I didn’t have a real plan, but I knew I couldn’t sit in the hopeless despair one day longer.

Day 1 I arranged to go to a twelve step recovery meeting with my best friend.

Despite being clean for nearly 13 years at the time, I was spiritually, mentally and emotionally broken.

So my friend and I go to this meeting, and instantly….it feels like I’m “home”. I realized I had drifted away from the program that gave me the gift of a second chance initially, and have been white-knuckling it for like 3 years. This is where I needed to be.

I went home feeling rejuvenated and inspired. I wanted to try again the next day. So I left the house again. And went to another meeting.

And then I couldn’t stop. Lol.

Long story short, I’ve left t

I know this is embarrassing but it’s for science. The mammalian dive reflex is an automatic survival response that all mammals have—including humans.

When cold water hits your face, particularly around the eyes and cheeks, your body basically recieves a message like “s**t is popping off sis, let’s turn that heart down a notch.
Then your heart rate just drops fast as hell and all that adrenaline running through your body starts chilling the hell out. Almost instantly.

I’ve never used it during an “episode” because it felt really dramatic and dumb and like too many steps for when I’m pissed. But once I saw it work in class, I knew it wasn’t stupid, it was actually awesome.

I’m not a therapist or professional, just highly emotional lady trying to get her s*** together.

The goal with this isn’t to fix the issue, it’s supposed to calm your body down until your brain can come back online.

It’s cool and it works, so I wanted to share.

You know the kind of overwhelm where all you can do is stand in the middle of the room crying because you don’t even know where to start?The kind where executive dysfunction and decision paralysis convince you that everything is of UPMOST freaking importance so you panic and end up doing nothing?Thats been me for awhile.

Daniel has been doing everything he can while dealing with medication-induced freakin Lupus, but with 4 kids, things pile up fast.

I was talking to my sister about how I’m so behind that it feels impossible to get it all done.

Next thing I know she’s at my front door like a P.E. coach with a whistle and a clipboard.

She helped me organize, prioritize, and get unstuck from my wild-ass brain.

I am so grateful to my sister, and all the other incredible people who continue to show up in my life. Im a mess sometimes, and couldn’t do this without you.

Kids can be mean. School is hard and the world is opinionated AF. Sometimes kids silently carry things we never even realize they’re carrying.

We decorated the bathroom in positive affirmations. I knowwwww this is gonna seem like a lot for most people. Especially for a main downstairs bathroom. But we wanted to make sure they knew at least once a day how strong and capable they are.

So if they’re brushing their teeth before school feeling insecure…
If they’re staring in the mirror after a hard day…
If they’re overwhelmed, emotional, awkward, growing, doubting themselves, or just trying to figure out who they are…

We want the walls in our home to remind them of something important…

You are loved here. You are safe here.You are important here.

You don’t have to earn your worth.

Kids become the voice they hear most often, and we hope to help make that voice kinder, stronger, and happier.
