Why Are People Homophobic? It’s Not Just About Being Gay
As a gay Arab man, I learned pretty early how much homophobia, fear, shame, masculinity and the pressure to fit in can shape the way we see ourselves and other people. Some of that becomes internalized homophobia. Some of it turns into scapegoating. And social media can make all of it louder.
In this video, I’m just connecting the dots between things I’ve lived through and patterns I keep seeing — from masculinity and shame to anti-trans content, online hate, and the way different parts of our identities can be turned against each other.
This one is unscripted. Just me thinking out loud.
