#Axone A treat to the eyes and ears watching the Seven Sisters get together. A 97 mins movie fitted with culture aspects, aroma of friendship & love, post traumatic stress, racism & discrimination, food & wedding. Few sheer delight scenes are:
The scenes where the group of friends go extra mile to cook the dish Axone, a pungent delicacy for a friend's wedding party.
The scenes where despite poles apart, they are always there for each other no matter what .
The scene where all the characters in the friends group make calls for help in their respective native tongue.
The scene where the group of friends, decked up in their respective traditional attires, walk together to attend the wedding party.
Quite the contrary, although Sayani Gupta brings life to the character of Upasana, a nepali girl, makes lil disappointed with her fake accent. A sure thing, Nepalis dont speak with that accent.
Again, dubious if the bride replacement ritual literally practised in the age old Galo community or its just a misconception.
On a lighter note, miss the sequence of Bamboo shoot ( gaz tenga) and ghost chilli (bhoot jolokia)
Overall, a knowledgeable piece in Indian Cinema for a change.
I ain't sure if i am ever gonna taste Axone or not, but i am certainly get a whip off.
