Okay so in short, it's a masterpiece.
Bo burnham's inside captures the comedic brilliance of a millennial going through an existential crisis, after recently recovering from a previous anxiety related existential crisis; added irony. This classic piece is aimed at the general zoomer and millennial generation, however it can appeal to other generations with a sense of humour, and a taste of openness. 'Inside's' comedic brilliance comes down to the relatableness of how isolating and intense covid life has been on all of our mental health, and helps others to feel less alone in their struggle. It can provide a sense of connection in an otherwise very isolating society.
The visual light work is of genius status, obvious hard work has gone into setting up the timing and interconnecting light displays, arranged precisely with the music.
Music wise, he has taken very catchy, poppy upbeat (*edit* sometimes slow) rhythms and merged that with down right depressing lyrics (for atleast half the songs) while others are just relatable, truthful and kinda sad. The music in itself is a successful endeavour, when matched with the lightwork it becomes even more encompassing, and therefore master-class.
Overall, the extent to which comedy meets crisis-drama and relatableness is that of masterpiece status and should be viewed by everyone with the ability to see, or hear, or both.
