Honestly, I expected better. I love the Witcher series however this isn’t really well written or made. I was hyped for a “blood origin” show but it felt basic and didn’t really give me an emotional connection to any characters. I’m just going to treat this as a filler to the next Witcher season for the new character we see at the “end credits”.
I would have like to see a plot that focused more on the need and reason for the empress to kill her brother and clan warriors to pursue knowledge and then really focus on how people are starving and struggling. You don’t really see struggle painted behind the scenes unless the characters tell you there is and some random people sitting in the street supposedly to look hungry. Should have been dramatized more, like idk a dark sky scene with rain and thunder and soldiers trying to load grain sack into carts to relocate them while citizens are trying to take some and are being fended off. Something with more meaning then someone just saying hey, the people are starving. Plot was nice but how this was directed was not at all how it could have been.
* Connect audience with characters
* Make the plot visually make sense
* Foreshadow small future details like, populace starving
* better acting scenes for the actors
* don’t focus on woke drama, make a piece of art that everyone can love
I wasn’t a fan of the singer however my 1 star rating doesn’t contribute to that, I give it a 1 star for many reason but also to motivate the creator of this film to improve their work and give helpful criticism.
