I have been using Christ in Our Home (large print edition) for several years. I've been getting them at my Lutheran Churches. I was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Irving Texas for many years, but recently moved. Luckily, I found St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Richardson, Texas one (1) year ago. I usually pick up each edition at the church, but since I've moved into an "all senior" apartment complex, & at seventy-two (72) no longer drive myself I've had to miss several Sunday Worship Services. I just found myself without the newest edition (October, November, & December) decided to order it & have it through the mail so I am never without it again.
I've been devoted to this particular devotional & suddenly, when I discovered I needed the new edition, I panicked. I spend from one (1) to two (2) hours each & every single day doing what I call my "Bible Work" consisting of daily scripture, story & prayer. You see, 6 years ago, I lost one of my beautiful twin granddaughters & found myself questioning God. Even angry at Him. I've attended church off & on my whole life (Evangelic Lutheran for 35-40 yrs), but had never truly read the Bible. My whole life consists of this daily routine & when I didn't have my copy, well I get so much peace, joy, & spirituality from my little daily routine. And as I get older, I need a routine or else I don't know what to do. It's truly made me a better Christian & Lutheran.
