As a watcher of anime and a fan of Star Wars, I loved this wholeheartedly. I will not deny there are flaws, and the stories are fairly small, but I can't really blame them here. The episodes were only between 14 to 20 minutes long for the most part. Some were weaker in story than others, but all of them had a zest in animation and were at least good.
My personal favorites of the series was The Duel, The Village Bride, The Ninth Jedi, and The Elder. In spite of the short time slot, they fit a decent and interesting story in them all. For example, the Duel can make one consider more on the dichotomy of Light and Dark sides of the force. The Village Bride was beautiful in music, animation, and doing a neat job making the story self-contained. Ninth Jedi made an interesting story that honestly deserves a continuation, as it had a unique take on the lightsaber not seen since the Mavel Comic adaptations of the Original Trilogy, as well as a plot twist that can catch viewers off guard. The Elder felt like a story contained so neatly in canon ideas that in my personal opinion, it might as well be.
Even those over-the-top things are far easier to endure for a simple reason: these shorts were not "canon" to begin with, allowing the studios far more freedom to do things. And even then, a lot of them worked within a bound that did not conflict terribly with canon, but that is my opinion.
To sum up, Visons is like a box of chocolates with mystery filling. Some people will enjoy one flavor, while others enjoy another. I enjoyed them all for different reasons, be it a story or just flashy animation, but not everyone has to enjoy it. If it isn't their cup of tea, then they can make that choice. It might not be for everyone, but a lot of people will find enjoyment.
