This movie was horrible, I was so disappointed!! I left after two hours because I couldn’t engage with the storyline at all. I was so distracted by the poor and inconsistent accents, the range of accents between the family members and the embarrassing sound track full of American classics. Why didn’t they use more Italian actors?! Why no Italian music?! Why not more Italian phrases and intonations? I couldn’t stand the script either - at one point Lady Gaga said something to the effect of “there is too much male energy in the room”. I can’t imagine Italian women were using phrases like that in the 1980s. The entire film was incredibly Americanized and lacked even an iota of Italian authenticity. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless they were going solely to take notes on how not to write, produce and cast a movie.
