if you are looking for something eerie, gothic and suspenseful but mostly uneventful, this is a must see film for you. if you like suspense with an actual outcome, maybe you should watch something else. the speech is over the top and too unnecessarily dramatic. it’s poetic and eerie but almost nothing happens. it makes me sad because it has so much potential. if they just remade it with some jump scares or worthwhile plot twists or even just a storyline that made sense, it could be phenomenal. but, they didn’t remake it and i doubt that they will. it’s the type of film that you’d think was based off a book- a good book, in fact. one where many things happen that cause tingles to run up and down your spine, with the unfortunate part being that it was simply too long to fit into a 90 minute film. but it isn’t. i can’t find any book that inspired this movie at all. even in the interesting parts, you don’t get to see the full scene. scenes are awkward and long and unconvincing. the title suggests an eerie movie, but not a boring one. the people who were entertained by this are the same people who are still scared of bloody mary or haven’t seen any worthwhile horror films.
