The reviews are accurate - this is an admirable effort but lacks the magic of the book, which is one of my favorites and very meaningful to me on a personal level. The sets were great: Hobie’s workshop and the Las Vegas development were just as I imagined them to be when I read the book. Young Theo was the best part of the movie. I’m glad I saw it because I was curious but the book will stand out in my memory forever; the movie...not so much.
