Solid show - but seems like it could have been a regular network show in the 2000's. A little mis-cast - the daughter is just awful (a real sad sack), and the Cisco character is not well acted. Read the books, and the series is just missing a little something. Unlike the Bosch series (its the same writer), which does a great job transforming the books to TV.

For Season 5 nothing says "jumping the shark" like adding Mandy Patinkin to your cast. In everything he just plays himself - a cranky, grumpy, old jewish guy... Show needs to get back to law cases, etc. Not 100% soap opera stuff, and gimmicks - ala Mandy Pintinkin.
