I read this book many years ago now, and it was the only time I was ever convinced not only try to learn meditation, but it led me through such simple explanations and steps, that I actually became quite proficient.
Roger Wills is so down to Earth and grounded, yet so 'aware' one never gets caught up it the 'magical mystery tour' search for the 'stillness', but which in my case caught me unawares, mainly because I had not been pressed or urged to seek it.
Although Roger has obviously spent much time studying under master practitioners, and obviously is an adept himself, he never 'mystifies' the search so that is always seems attainable, and the same grounded quality of his writing helps balance the ever changing experience I found meditation to be. He writes simply, with humour and common sense, and eliminates the incense and chanting image of the 'seekers'.
I stupidly 'lent' my copy, and it never returned. I am overjoyed to find it still exists, now my goal is to obtain a copy and journey back to the places I travelled through it.
